Terrific piece in Folio about one of journalism’s worst problems: ferociously stupid overediting. My theory is that in most cases they pile on the editors to get the cumulative IQ up to that of the writer. (The exceptions in my world know who they are; the non-exceptions are still moving their lips through the previous sentence.)
