Canada used to be the sort of country in which the government of the land took particular care with the privacy rights of its citizens. Unfortunately, that appears to have been quite squelched by September 11 (or, more accurately, by long-time fans of the police state using 9/11 like a blowup doll at an underattended bachelor party). This report from the Privacy Commission of Canada is extraordinarily depressing, but if I have to read it you probably should too. (Saddest line: “Canada is a sovereign country.” Dude, when you gotta point it out…)
